Recieved the Pioneer D3 in the mail yesterday.
Got the unit, the mounting kit, the wiring kit and the rear view camera.

Took about an hour and a half to install.

Here are the pictures with some install pics. I have done other write ups on the unit install so I will only explain some minor changes for a Double Din Navi install.

You use the original mounting brackets from the stock unit. You can use it with out modifying it but the door wont close.
I took a 3/16" drill bit and drilled out the detents in the stock brackets. This allowed me to recess the unit. You only need to drill out the front two detents but I didnt know and did all four.

You then attach the metra mounting kit over the brackets and screw in.

Attached

I mounted the GPS reciever behind the right side a pillar. It is magnetic so it sticks perfect and cant be seen. Ran the wiring behind the glove box and to the unit.

The reverse wire is attached to the white plug PINK WIRE behind the glovebox. Just used a crimp tap to attach to the wire.

The speed sensor wire is on the HVAC unit, orange wire pin 14. I didnt have any more crimps, so I peeled back the insulation and soldered and then taped it.

Here you can see the finished product:

I will give feedback after I use it for a few days

I size them to fit an average size monitor (17-19inch) thunbnails are a pain for a DIY because people have to click back and forth when installing. And most people print out a install.

I bought it used off a guy on SL. Got it with the camera, mounting kit, wiring kit already wired and the bypass done, all for $780 shipped.

That modification is shown in the pictures above. You just drill out the detents on the stock brackets and the door closes perfect.

No dremeling needed. I will take a picture of it fully closed tomorrow. Just drill out the mounting brackets as shown, and install door closes and opens like stock.

You'll need the adapter harness or else you'll have to splice into your OEM harness.
