I took my Viper 5900 (remote start/alarm) to be installed at Circuit City and I noticed a couple things afterward... The Viper unit said I can turn the interior lights on, but the tech said no because when you unlock the Scion with the remote key it doesn't turn on the lights then... Is that correct? Also, when a door is open, it does not show on the LCD remote... Is it because it only shows a door open when the someone opens the door when its armed? Thanks |

The interior lights SHOULD come on when you unlock the car. The door open part should only let you know when the door is opened when armed.....not 100% on this but it seems useless to alert you EVERY time it's opened. ![]() Complaining is futile when you supported the victory. |

It doesn't have to alert me about the door, but it should show on the picture on the LCD remote, right...? Or no? |

Well, if it's designed to simply show a display of the doors at all times (armed or not), then YES....it should display a lit light for a door being open. I'm not sure how it's designed to work so I'm mearing just giving an educated guess. ![]() Complaining is futile when you supported the victory. |

The dome light has to be hooked up separate from the doors to work. So that was just the lazyness of the installer. Pretty sure a relay has to be added for the dome lights to come on with unlock(been a while since I put mine on). As for the door on the remote, it will only show up if the door is opened while the alarm is armed. I am an installer at a Circuit City unfortunately there are lazy installers that give the company a bad name. You should be able to take it back to them and have them hook up the dome lights. Also make sure that they hooked up the trunk pin a lot of installers are lazy and don't hook that up. Oh yeah and make sure there is a hood pin that shuts off the remote start if it is opened, it also will set off the alarm if opened while armed. Be happy to answer any more questions about it. |
