Hey gang,

I'm really having issues with most of you posting completely useless thread titles. I'm seeing a lot of threads containing titles that don't fit well with the subject of the thread and the contents of the first post. I'm going to post examples of thread titles I hate because they aren't descriptive enough:

"Which ones" - http://www.clubsciontc.co...ad_11546-which-ones-.html

This thread should be titled: "Help me choose a new set of rims/wheels". Containing two words don't help us scan for interesting threads in the least bit.

"Will this fit in my 07..." - http://www.clubsciontc.co...-kno-b-4-i-bought-it.html

Will what fit? Please, post what THIS is in the thread title. "Will a 3rd Dimension Exhaust System fit 07 TC?" is a more descriptive and helpful title.

"gears" -
http://www.clubsciontc.com/forum_thread_11515-gears-.html

Seriously. What?

If you have difficulties coming up with thread titles in forums that aren't Coffee House, feel free to ask me what a useful thread title would be. Threads with useful titles will come up as relevant in forum searches, and will help me build better features in the future for content related stuff.

Failure to spend time creating a decent thread title will result in me either locking the thread, or outright deleting it. We need to make the forums useful; having 80 different threads with the subject title "HELP!" isn't helpful at all.

Thanks. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here.

Okay, I've gone through most of the posts and I've seen horrible titles.

if you want someone to help you with a question, try being a little more specific on your titles

let me break it down for you.....

BAD THREAD TITLES BELOW

1. help!!!

2. tire size

3. need to get one....

4. horsepower????

^^^^^ Those thread titles are pathetic and it's no wonder they had ZERO replies.

GOOD THREAD TITLES

1. I need some help with pulley install

2. What tire size for an 18 inch rim?

3. Looking to buy a header

4. How much horsepower in a stock tC?

be specific and try putting some thought into your headline... these are not text messages on your cell phone and this isn't an email to your buddy from school

don't rely on moderators to fix your titles, we're not your momma

I must agree with Orin, If you do not post a proper title then you can't expect to get the help that you need, so please don't just rely on moderators to change them for you.

If we sound mean, it's because we are in "your momma" mode. We just want some clean forums is all

Just as a warning, things are going to get a bit strict in the future.

This is a reminder for everyone.

When creating a new post, put some thought into your subject line just as you would for creating your post.

a BUMP for new users

lately there have been a lot of posts that have titles that do not make any sense.

please, before you create a post, think about the people that use search or are looking to try and help, but can't because your post just says:

"looking for.."-----("looking for" doesn't tell anyone anything about what you're looking for)

before you post, take a minute and create a specific title and also think about where you're placing the post. Playing a game of Golf shouldn't be posted in Engine Mods

Moderators will be sending PM reminders to anyone that forgets

let's all try our best to keep the forums easy to read and very specific.

We've been getting a lot of new users over the last couple months so I felt this deserved a bump. As stated, a useful thread title makes all the difference in someone being able to search for your thread when they are having the same problem and the solution was found when you asked the first time.

And please Look at what forum you are in before you create a thread!!! There is a proper place to ask a question and it would be appreciated if you make sure that you are in that place before you ask.

^agreed

You can actually get a lot more help and a lot more answers by being putting more information into your thread title.

Just as FrankRyzzo said, take a look where you are before you hit create post

A thread about turbo kits shouldn't be in exterior styling/detailing

Threads about about exhausts shouldn't be in Audio Mods

i also agree and the mods have done a good job locking thrads that need it, moving threads that need it, regulating "drama," ensuring FS/FT stuff has photos with user name... etc........
