What does everybody think of this producthttp://www.infinitysystems.com/caraudio/hot_news.aspxKeep in mind I-m not a audiophile to the point of teeth rattling bass, just good tight bass that will compliment the stock sound. Also any suggestions on mounting and other considerations for the install

IMO= Tacky, you will be laughed at by anyone who is even remotely into quality sound,,,, even if the quality is supurb to more expensive systems. However,, If it suites your taste, your budget, and your needs, by all means go for it, just dont expect a good reaction if you show it off.I don-t mean to sound like a dick,, I-m just giving you my opinion,, of course,, I just might be really, really wrong, and you may have just stumbled on the next -gottahaveit- item in mobile audio. Who KNows?

Tacky? I think all subs are tacky unless they are custom enclosures. Like I said at first, not an autophile, I-m a speed freak. So all the -I.C.E- does not appeal to me. I doubt it is the next gottahaveit item since it-s been out for almost 2 years.

$299, most places have them for $249 though. It was either this or nothing for me, because I-m not willing to spend upwards of $500-1000 for subs. I think this will give me the little bit of low end that the factory setup lacks. I do agree with you that it isn-t the most attractive option, but it only takes up 1 cubic foot of hatch space and has twice the power of the factory bazooka sub. I won-t be entering any sound offs or car shows either, so for me it-s a happy medium.

it-s probably what I-d get. Perfect for those of us who want some decent bass and a fairly easy install on a budget. Not to mention it-s fairly compact, which is nice for the tC.

$200 off ebay. after listening to a friend-s, i always wanted this. if you-re not looking to show off and be heard 2 blocks away, i recommend this. whoever says this is tacky is a show boat. the sub will match nicely with stock speakers. it-s better than having an 13- L7 sub muting your stock speakers. maybe it-s me, but i like it a little more subtle. i-m not into waking up the neighbors in the middle of the night like some of my friends. now, how does this compare up to the stock bazooka? i don-t know... the greatest reason for this sub is it-s small diameters with a build in amp. and the stock bazooka hides it better in the little corner....

i am an audiophile, and i was concerned that the basslink would be weak. i took a chance and was quite surprised the amazing sound that came from it! i kept the head unit, replaced the fronts with infinity components, and 3 ways in the rear and spliced in the basslink with a .5 farad capacitor. i installed the basslink in the rear right, with the sub facing the outer fender. i was afraid i-d have to dynomat the entire side, but that is not necessary. since its a hatchback, the sound travels well into the entire cabin, giving quite a lot of bass. the 200 rms is very much adequate for most people. much of the time I have the bass knob set at less than half.the knob, unfortunately came on a short leash. from the sub in the trunk, it could only extend to the passenger footwell. i mounted it where your left foot woud rest if it were against the center console. its not intrusive so i-ll keep it there. please check out the photo!

here-s the bass knob location pic.i got everything from cardomain.com. you can price match their products at 105% so shop around. FYI, my audi tt roadster has two 10- JL Audio 10w3-s built into a false floor, powered by a fosgate amp. And I run component mb quart speakers inside. Yes, my infinity setup isn-t as drastic, but for only a few hundred dollars, it sounds great!

And I thought I was the first to do this Does look good though. I got the black model, I was planning on mounting it alittle further back toward the seats though. Did you have any trouble on the install?

When replacing the door speakers with separates, did you have any woofer depth problems? Any problems getting the tweeters to fit? I haven-t pulled the door panels yet so I only have the pictures posted in another thread to go by. I have a pair of Alpine Type R 6.5 inch components that I was going to install in my previous vehicle before it got totalled.I installed a basslink this past weekend and am pretty pleased so far. Takes a while to get things dialed in properly but for the $ I have no complaints.I do have one concern about where you put the volume control....Be careful about mounting objects in the footwell area. When I got hit in my truck, a piece of the center console punctured my leg and I had to get several stitches to close the hole. Since yours is pretty low in the passenger footwell, you are probably fine but I just thought I would mention that. I still need to figure out where to install mine.

when i saw the specs on the bazooka, i knew i wouldn-t be happy enough with the 100 watts. i had an old bazooka tube years ago and that was such a piece of junk. i had a good friend do the install (he owns his own audio shop). it was pretty basic with no major problems that he came across. the fronts mounted in fine. the rears, i actually bought the short depth infinity-s. it really wasn-t necessary since there looked to be sufficient room. they-re such a great change from the stock speakers!i mounted the bassllink at the edge of the trunk only because it fit nicely in the nook that the bazooka would have fit in. behind that and just before the seats is just a little area to throw my blankets and jackets into. it also gives me enough space to still recline the seats back.i think the clear case looks cool, much better than the plain black case. it has a blue led power light on it also that glows nice at night. FYI: you know the floor unit that you take out to get to the spare tire? since its in three sections, I had him cut off the right one so its a separate section and mounted the basslink directly to that. Its sturdy enough that it won-t fly/move around + you don-t need to remove the basslink to get to the tire or the took kit. the capacitor resides beneath the basslink, mounted on to the stock foam supply stash. thanks for all the comments!

Ok, I have the scion adapter kit for that has one set of RCA jacks, but does that mean I have to splice the factory wires to the Basslink? Or can I just get some adapter for the pair of rca jacks? Also, where can I get an inline fuse for power line to the battery. As you can tell, I haven-t hooked up many amp/subs.

not too sure about the dimentions of the Basslink volume,, but Im using a Coustic XM-3e crossover in my system. It has a remote volume as well, I mounted mine under the lip of the armrest. I pulled out the center assmbly and drilled a hole about 2- below where the lid pulls up and mounted it from underneath. It is really convenient and easy to adjust while cruising. I-ll post some pics this weekend.

Audio gurus??? Check out my earlier post on the rca jacks? The basslink has a front L/R and rear L/R rca inputs, but the adapter only has one pair of outputs. Do I need to use a y-adapter or just use one of the inputs? I-ve read that the rear L/R are for if the HeadUnit has fader controls, which the tC-s obviously don-t. Any input is welcomed, just trying to get this all worked out before I start the install.

i had my guy tap into the front speakers for now. i-ll do it properly with RCA-s when I get the Pioneer AVIC-N2 coming out this spring. I didn-t sense any degredation in sound from the tapping in. Good luck!

Yeah I was trying to avoid any splices in the factory wiring, for warranty issues etc. I-ve looked all over the internet, but haven-t found a clear answer.

Hook them up to your rear. this is what nearly everyone does in car audio land.

That-s it? Don-t have to worry about the other set?One last question, I have the inline fuse that came in the scion adapter kit, but the power wire is in a loop. Do I cut that and splice the long length wire to one end and crimp a + terminal connector on the other? Also, I am going to run the remote start lead to the 12v power source in the console, and the Bass controls to one of the knock outs (where the fogs, Illumination, buttons go.)

Dont know why you would need to use the fuse, You may have to read the man, but the remote start is the grey wire, you would probably be tapping into that wire in the future alot. So this is what I did, and what I suggest you do: Go to radioshack and get some quick disconnects. cut the grey wire and crimp a male end onto the part that leads to your car. crimp on a female to the part that leads into your head unit. also buy a couple of quick disconnect splitters, (they should be in the same parts tray at radioshack) crimp on another female end to the remote lead wire on the basslink, or whatever. you should use this same process with all of your audio cables, just in case you want to easily remove, or add anything in the future.DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, attach the remote start wire on the basslink to the BLUE +12v wire !!! ok,, this is what I did, see the quick disconnects, the splitter, and the adapter I used. Also heres the pic of the bass level controll I did on mine.
