THE SHADOW

Use this thread to discuss upgrades, parts, trails, show pictures.........anything with mountain biking. I'll open one for road bikers too.

My toy:

THE SHADOW

Just got back from a trail run ...

Jumped into it and came around a corner with an overgrown thorn bush and scraped my arm.....but kept going.

Rode some hills and valleys for another mile and then saw 2 people walking a dog. The dog snapped the leash and ran at me so I stopped (NEVER run from any dog b/c they WILL catch you) and let him get close. When he jumped he bit my elbow a bit (probably just grazed it with his teeth) so I muzzled him and threw his head against a tree. He yelped and the people grabbed him and immediately turned their attention to me. I was fine (not even shaken up for some reason) and ended up petting the dog. He was fine after that.....and kept going.

Then, I came down a hill that ended in a creek before sloping back up so I jumped it and the front tire landed in wet sand and stuck. Well, I railed the handle bars on my stomach while at the same time squishing my nuts and slipping off the left pedal and scraping my calf......that stopped me for a bit. When your jibblets get hurt, that's a show stopper right there.

All and all........a GREAT trail ride

I have a field knife with me at all times but there's no point for a dog. Only if it's a Roti or Pit will I break that out.

It's the same trail as I had some pics of last time but this time I just took it with more speed and confidence b/c of the other trail I went on Sunday that makes these look flat....hahaha

Some sort of retreiver....not sure what type though. Was brown and specled white/black.....Nah, they were more worried about me as they should be. I could have sued their asses for whatever I wanted since their dog attacked me.....but i'm not a tool like a lot of people in this country. It nicked my arm with it's claws and teeth....wasn't enough for me to warrant doing anything more than what I did.

it was a buckle leash that just clips around his neck.....it's plastic so it just unclipped or broke....not sure. I saw it swing away from his neck though.

The bush was the scratches closest to you and the little ones on the inside of my elbow are from the dogs claws/teeth.

The dog will run faster than you, jump higher than you and is able to go more places than you are.....You're screwed if you ever run from a dog.

Aight, i'm out..........cruisin time tonight...

Those are some nice trails, that would be the good old B.C. Whistler Blackcomb. I want to go ride there so bad, or go to the Crankworx festival over there.

THE SHADOW

I got my gf and I lost in the woods off a trail that I thought kept going and I was too stubborn to turn back .........we were in grass up to my chest (about 5 feet tall) and logs all over the place. Made for some interesting riding but it was sooooooooooooooo fun.

Next time, now that we know where to go (there's a lake that we rode next to) we are wearing our bathing suits and jumping in. We waded into it last time, but next time, i'm picking her up and running in with her...............

I really want to ride my bike down one of the trails that dead ends with a little lip/jump right into the lake!.......It looks sooooooo fun but soooooooooooo many rocks in the water where you land

Knives are ok to have IF they are used only for field/fishing/hunting use. I'm sure cops would prefer you not have them, but they don't site you for them if you let them know you have one and what you have it on you for.

Nah, I'll take a field knife........I'm not all about throwing things...seems too weak. Knives you can sneak up and really use your silence skills to kill someone
