I washed my car today and I was using a shammy towel to dry the hood and I found scratches all over the hood from drying it. Wtf why would it do that. I hate black, i only have 3k on it and it already has scratches all over it. TC--Tuners Choice |

its because when you first got the car wet, you didnt get all the grit off. When you put soap on and started rubbing it around, all you were doing is grinding the dirt in. When I was I make sure to use a pressure washer turned down to a reasonable level. Most scratches are just unavoidable though ![]() |

Chamois are the worst thing for your car. If you don't keep them wet all the time, they get dry spots and cause hairline scratches. Microfiber is the best. ![]() Complaining is futile when you supported the victory. |

well, the good news is the micro swirls can be buffed out just make sure the person doing the buffing is an expert or it will look horrible |

Yep, its the same principal as a chamois, but a chamois is just a skin leather from the animal of the same name. The absorber has no texture like the skin and once wet will retain its moisture if stored properly. The swirl marks usually are from washing not drying though. Unless you use a filter at the bottom of your wash bucket the dirt you wash on your car is going right back into the wash water. To lessen the chance of getting the swirl marks: 1. Get a drop in filter for you wash bucket 2. Use a microfiber nap wash mitt 3. Machine wash the wash mitt after each car wash. 4. Never wash an area without rinsing first (most important!) 5. Never dry your car with houshold towels or cotton towels 6. If you use a Chamois, make sure that it is completely wet & clean ![]() Check Engine Light Eliminators |

well for number 1 you could just use power wash get from armor all, you dont need a bucket. So you dont have to worry about a filter. |
