I just clay barred my car like 3 weeks ago but I parked under a huge oak tree this weekend and now my car is covered in the sap... Is it too soon to clay bar again or does it even matter?

Clay baring your car doesn't hurt anything. I do it almost every time I wash my car to keep all contaminents off the paint.

She just wanted to know if clay baring the car frequently would possibly damage the paint.

All the clay bar does is lift loose paint and debris off the clear coat/paint and removes it. It does not add to any peeling or cause any damage to the paint if done frequently. The more you do it, the cleaner your paint stays.

hahha..........well, a little TLC in the next few weeks wouldn't hurt it. Just take a day and make it a nice, slow process getting all the dirt out of every little crack.

Do you live in an area of heavy/constant rain or a lot of dust from construction sites? That's what will tear the wax up on your car.

I use Meguier's Cleaner wax and then Meguier's NXT wax on top with a polish on that

If you wanted to know what a "clay bar" actually is maybe i can help explain it. What you would do is wash your car first. Give it a thorough rub down. Then when it dries. You would whip out the clay bar kit.

Clay bar kits consist of a lubricant, perhaps a couple chucks of clay, and sometimes a wax kit and microfiber towel. What you do is spray an area of the car with the lubricant, and rub the clay all over where the car is lubricated. Since the clay forms a perfect fit around the contours of every single crevice of the car, it will pull every single spec of dirt and contaminant off your car.

For example, go out and do a 100% amazing wash and wax job on your car. Rub it, it may feel perfectly smooth. Now use a clay bar, feel the treated spot, and prepare yourself for a shock!

do you have to wax the car after you use the claybar?

you don't have to

waxing after the clay is the best time because most of the pollutants are gone from the clear coat, so waxing after the clay will allow the wax to last a lot longer.

Yup, red box....Meguier's has one in a blue box but it doesn't have the cleaner wax with it. That's the only difference.
