Rabbits are like civics, people mod em all the time, like crazy. Maybe you were up against a modded Rabbit?

Ahh dude, those GTI's are beast. You gotta go FI to crush those. I/H/E may put you at an even match.

Whoa, just checked Vehix. Does the Rabbit really have 170hp/170ftlbs?? No way...

tC has to be able to beat it.

5 cylinders? The Rabbit is an I4.

So I guess stock for stock, after second gear we (tC's) should start pulling ahead.

Nope, not even I/H/E...

The new GTI besides having 6 gears, uses transmission which shifts digitally via DSG type (direct gear selection) even if you're the slickest draw in the west with your 5 speed. DSG can engage a gear in a fraction of a second.

Let's also take into consideration it has 185-190 to the wheels with a lot more torque.

You'd have to be modded with turbo to beat a stock GTI 2007 model.

Thanks Orin for clearing that up. Think a s/c'ed tC would stand a chance?

Oh and whats your take on a Rabbit? I was always under the impression we could beat em stock for stock. I dont want to be dissappointed...

I've driven the Rabbit and I've pushed it to it's limits. It does have a nice torquey inline 5 cylinder...

A stock tC will beat a stock Rabbit. The 10 extra hp in the tC is enough to ensure a slow pull ahead...

very slow pull ahead.

numbers wise a S/C would be about the same as the GTI, but it's not all numbers... I'd place my bet on the GTI due to it's tranmission and suspension.

Oh man, thanks for that, Im gonna sleep much better tonight, haha.

Not too worried about the GTI though. They are in another class. Its a real sick deal for a GTI.
