Haha yeah, i just used a jack stand wedged up against the seat to hold in the clutch pedal while i tried, but i will definately have to get someone with smaller fingers. But i'm not even sure it's necessary. I can't imagine the clutch being any smoother! You should try the other boot again if you haven't already got it. It is really easy to slip the rubber sleeve off and i'm sure it will help a lot.

Yeah, I globbed a shit load of grease all over both sections and kept working more and more grease into the "yellow" circled section for about 10 minutes. I'll probably add some more for good measure at the end of summer to get ready for a salty winter.

If you do it the way the pictures show and in those locations, you will be fine.

put enough in the right spot?

i would get a friend and locate the source of the squeak and grease accordingly.

Is this normal? I couldn't get the rubber to cover back the hole completely.

Will water get into the opening and cause damage?

It's there to prevent dust/moisture from getting into the clutch fork area and causing a lot of rust and wear. Keep trying to make it fit back the way it was.
