Right now when i wash my car I use armor all bucket free car wash, but I was wondering which one is better the car washes that require a bucket or the bucket free ones. I like to have a lot of suds when i am doing a car wash.

i think it's a matter more what what car wash you use than buckets or not.. i dunno.. *shrugs*

i've always used buckets and a good car wash along with a nice mitt to keep the suds going as i wipe down the car.

I use the Mr. Clean Auto dry. It works pretty good but it leaks water all over the place. I hate dealing with buckets because i don't like putting the dirty water back on my car. I used to have a pressure washer. That was nice. But either way, use a clay bar after you wash it.

I'm getting an idea so ingenious that my head would explode if even began to know what I was talking about....

SoapJet + Absorber FTW. My AutoDry stopped working worth a damn once I got the wax nice and layered. Just wouldn't dry right. The roof was spotting all to hell.

I have a bucket that I use with laundry soap for cleaning the wheels.

Don't forget the clay bar..............you'll never shine as good unless you use that.............it's the greatest thing.

^ agreed. Once I got started on a clay bar, I can't see how I could have gone without it. It's a miracle in a bar of clay. Use it with quick detailing spray.

I only use the clay bar once every two months or so. I don't get too many contaminates in the paint. Even when i do use it, it comes out pretty clean, i can't tell the difference by feel or by sight after using the clay bar.

^Then you must live in a bubble or not drive your car anywhere that has dust/dirt/oil/water/exhaust fumes........haha

It may look clean, but a chemcial test of the clay bar before and after would surprise you. You know when you look up and a plane is close to the airport and landing?......they are actually dumping excess fuel that mixes in the air so that when they land, if something happens and they crash, they won't have as much fuel that will burn. That fuel settles on your paint.

I always see pollen and tar in the clay. That's AFTER I washed my car. It's a must before you wax.

Yeah, or else you're just waxing the left over residue and pollen right into the paint itself. The first time you clay your car, it should take you about 2-3 hours if you do it 100% correctly. The first time will have the most contaminents in the paint.

I live in an apartment complex so I have to result to do it yourself car washes which suck cause 5 bucks to wash your car and doing it in a speedy fashion leaves you unsatisfied.

I always prefer washing with a bucket with a nice sponge that won't scrathc your clear coat. Drying with deer skin or a microfiber cloth and then putting a sexy coat of wax down on her!
