Kelly Blue Book Sucks!! They dont help out at all. You guys still make excuses and excuses till the price in kellys you thought you would be getting is kicked to the curb and you think you would be gettin 8000 for your car and they end up saying they will only give you 4000 or less. Its bullshit. Dealerships try to rape us. Its horrible. I came in there wit a CLEAN GMC Sonoma 1999 with less than 70000 miles on it. It was in perfect condition. I kept it clean. It had some new chrome american racing wheels, interior was spotless and had a brand new cd player. I appraised it on kelly blue book and it said i should get 8500 for it in trade. I was so excited when i saw that. I took it to toyota/scion to get the car i have now and i was smirking knowin i was goin to have a huge downpayment on my car. They said "You have one clean truck you got there" amd i was like "Yep". The next thing that happened was the guy came to his desk, sat down, looked at me and said that i could only get 3000 for my truck. I looked at him and said "WHAT"??? He said "Thats all he could offer me". Basically i felt like my heart was ripped out, stomped on and than i was smacked across the face. I said "HA" i will not trade my car in than. He looked at me like i was crazy. I was like come on do you think i am stupid. That truck is in perfect condition, the paint is brand new, the tires have only 300 miles on it, the rims are spotless wit no rust marks, the headlights were restored to factory specs, the seats have no marks or tears and the floorboard is spotless. This truck is worth more than that. I was like Dad what time does the SOMD toyota close right in front of the dealer in waldorf. He went ugh hold on let me check wit my boss again. After like 5 minutes he came in and sat down and said ok he he forgot to put a couple things down. We can give you 7300 for it. I went where is my car!! lol So nothing against you guys or anything but you got to watch car salesman in general cuz they will try to screw you. Again nothing mean against you but its tru.

I know all the tricks that dealers and sales consultants use, so if anybody needs advice on buying a car, shoot me a PM.

edit

also look for folks with the badge, it means they are aware of dealership information or have sold cars themselves.

It's the real deal. My sister totaled her 2008 corolla s after 4 months. She got a brand new one free of charge.

Heres a story for everyone... My gf has a 00 Celica Gt auto she wants a tC so shes searching online and found a sweet deal its a 07 tC with 14k miles for 14k. We go to the dealership and start looking at it and out comes the sales man. We tell him we are interested in the car but are only looking and would like some numbers. So we go in and tell them she has a 00 celica gt with 77k miles for a trade but she still has payments on it. they find out its about 3k more payments on her car and say if she brings the car in now with 1000 down they will pay off the last of the loan and she can put the plates on the tC and go. Im like whoaaaa now u basicaly are telling us u want her car for 3k no way will that happen and i then tell them KBB says 6500 for the car as Trade in Value. So they say this 5500 for the celica and nothing down payment and u can take the car and the payments will b 299 a month. Im like lisa thats not bad only a grand off from KBB. This is much better then wut they were offering for her car car befor for 3k with 1k down and her payments would of been 359 a month. So im like not bad at all lisa. But she had to go home and talk to him so we tell the sales man and the guy that was crunching the numbers behind the desk. Well the sales man is like ill b here thursday and we can talk bring ur dad along and he can see the car. Then i say i hope the car dosent sell because i can see u guys are really giving us a decent deal on it. And the guy behind the desk goes well if u dont take this car tonight i cant offer u the same deal and im like thats alright we will talk later. And i say again hope it dosent sell then the guy behind the desk goes AND I QUOTE THIS! "well i hope it does!" Im like ummmmmm ok well too bad for us then.

How the hell do u expect to sell a car when u talk to a very interested person like that. So now my gf wont go back because they were way too pushy and gave her that cocky comment. But a 07 tC with 14k miles and they were selling it for 14k i mean common. And if she traded her car in it would of brough it down to 12k.
